Welcome to Leeds Neil Warnock

The first manager linked with Leeds after the sacking of Simon Grayson was Neil Warnock, and now he's joined the club, a club he never seemed to like, but honestly I don't care, if he does the job and get us promoted he can hate us all day long.

I am pretty sure that Warnocks pride in his job will shine through more than the fact that he might not love Leeds United, so I am certainly ready to give him a chance to show us what he can do.

I can't see Neil agreeing to the job in Leeds if he haven't been guaranteed some funds in the summer, and that he'd be allowed to clean up the team - I for one can see 10-12 players that we need to throw out of the club, and if Neil can find three-four quality players, I think we'll be on our way - If promoted this season the terms of course change and we'll need more than three-four great players if we are to stay in the prem.

So regardless of what people think of Neil Warnock and his appointment in Leeds I think that we should all back him and the team up and hope that things will now finally change for Leeds United, and remember Wilko managed Sheffield W and Lee Chapman hated Leeds before joining too, the great atmophere at Elland Road can turn anyone around!

Leeds United - Doncaster Rovers February 18th 2012

Game four after Simon Grayson will see local rivals Doncaster visit Elland Road. After losing in midweek to Coventry Leeds put Doncaster into 24th and last place in the league, so will it be another defeat to the bottom team in the league or will Leeds finally man up and get three important points?

Doncaster have been terrible away from home this season, gaining only seven points from a possible 45, so I can't see them having much hope of beating Leeds tomorrow, but we have been kind to bad teams before so who knows.

Leeds and Neil Redfearn once again have a pretty fit team to pick from, biggest issue being that loanee Fabian Delph is out injured and might have played his last game for Leeds.

Redfearn have had a tough start to his Leeds managerial career, started out well by beating nine man Bristol, but have since fallen twice in overtime to average teams, he came under critisim from fans for weird subs in the last game, and I really hope that the Doncaster game will be the last one Neil will have in charge of Leeds.

I will always remain positive on our chances of getting a win but these days it does seem hard to believe in the club and the "progres" we all want it to make. A new manager and some ambition from the board with regards of sales/releases and quality coming in in the summer will help a lot, but like I've said before, I need to see it, to believe it.

Tomorrows game will be another tight one I think and I still can't see us keeping a clean sheet so I am hoping for a 3-1 win with goals from Becchio, Snodgrass and Americano Robbie Rogers.

What's next for Leeds United?

So after sacking Simon Grayson we are now three games into the "Neil Redfearn reign" at Elland Road, and what the hell - the exact same problems show their ugly faces again - we can't defend, can't create real chances and can't win games - so was it SG's fault, can someone new really get more out of the team, or have we just all been filled with lies from Bates & Harvey AGAIN?

Since Simon left Leeds we have been linked to almost every manager in the country e.g Lee Clark, Mick McCarthy, Neil Warnock, Sven-Göran Ericsson, Karl Robinson, Paul Ince, Steve Bruce and many more - and what's happened? Neil Redfearn have been given four games in charge for no apparent reason, I can't make sense of what is going on inside the head of Bates & Harvey.

I had hoped that a new manager would come in now (like in any other NORMAL club), meaning that he'd have an outside chance of getting us promoted, but if not, then he'd at least have some games to see who he wanted to keep and who he wanted to sell/free up in the summer - and then make a plan for who he'd like to come in as well. I guess Bates feels that if Redfearn stays on this season he can avoid getting a new man in who makes demands on who should come in and who should go - you know, force him to give every player currently at the club a new chance from the beginning of next season, probably meaning we'll end up have another wasted season next year.

Lee Clark got the boot in Huddersfield on wednesday, they'll no doubt have a new manager before we do, and if they announce a deal with Simon Grayson I will be happy for them and him, but I will also feel that that will put them in a position where they can overtake us and become the footballing flagship of Yorkshire (God help us!!).

I want a new manager in Leeds now, Redfearn is not up for it (proved by his crazy subs on tuesday, who the hell changes up the central defence with 15 mins to go? plus takes of our only dangerous player on the night). A new manager now with new ideas and the ability to make Bates understand what is needed if he, like he claims, really want to see Leeds United be a force in England again - But I reserve the right to be critical of Bates' ambitions with Leeds United, but I really hope that this is the year he proves me wrong.

With that being said, I won't hold my breath on either the matter of us getting a new manager or the matter of Ken Bates proving me wrong. I do however still live in the dream world where I feel that Leeds United will get back to the top of the footballing world someday.

Marching on together!!

Leeds United - Brighton Febuary 10th 2011

Tomorrows guests at Elland Road are the same team that visited the ground when I first saw Leeds United live, back then we drew 1-1 with Snoddy snatching us a late point, hopefully we'll get three points tomorrow.

Brighton find themselves level on points with Leeds. After a great start to the season they have stalled a bit and Gus Poyet and Casper Ankergren will hope for a good result at Elland Road to get their season going again.

The game at the amex in september ended 3-3 with Ross McCormack getting a late goal, during the first half of that game we outplayed Brighton and that was the first time this season I really felt we could get promoted, second half was terrible and left me thinking we could get relegated - and now I think we're somewhere in between.

Leeds got a great 3-0 away win last week in Neil Redfearns first game in charge, and Neil have been given at least the next three games in charge of Leeds, one must wonder whether Ken Bates' first choice as manager is currently unaviable or if Kenneth is just trying to make the cheapest solution?

Once again NR will have an almost fit team to pick from, only Somma is still missing, he'll probably pick the same 11 as last week to start though. I think McCormack and Becchio looked great together, and I hope/feel that a great partnership between those two can put us all the way this season with a bit of luck of course.

I am feeling quite confident at the moment (so we'll probably f'*** up tomorrow) so I am thinking a 2-0 Leeds win with goals from Lees and McCormack!

Bristol City - Leeds United 4th of February 2012

So saturday will be game one after Simon Graysons reign as Leeds manager ended. Barnsley legend Neil Redfearn have taken over as caretaker manager, but will probably be given the job until summer by cheap Kenny Bates if he wins tomorrow.

So after we all spent tuesdays game against Birmingham thinking about the transfer window (did the players have their minds there too during that thrashing?), we can now spent tomorrows game worrying about who, if any, Ken Bates will appoint to take over Leeds United.
Basically every manager in the world have been linked, so trying to figure out who it will be is a full time job it seems - My frontrunners are Warnock, Keith Hill or, hopefully, Paul Lambert.

Bristol City have had a pretty bad season so far, Neil Kilkenny & friends have been at the wrong end of the table all year and currently find themselves in 20th six points above the relegation zone. It's our last meeting with them this season, the game in September at Elland Road ended with Ross McCormack snatching us a late winner.

Redfearn will be able to pick almost any player he wants for the game, which could mean we'll see a few surprices in the team. Andy O'Brien returned to the club after recieving help with a depression and before too long we might be able to get David Somma back in team, those two, if fit and ready, could give us a massive boost and help fire us into the play off places. I don't know if Redfearn will give some of his own youngsters the chance to impress (Turner twins, Gimpel etc.) or if he will play it safe with the same players Simon Grayson used.

Usually the sacking of a manager gives some kind of response so let's hope the lads will come together and make something happen in the last 18 games, and hopefully starting with a win tomorrow.

2-0 Leeds, both goals coming from Snoddy, who else! MOT

Goodbye Simon Grayson

About a month and a half ago I wrote a blog asking wheater Simon Grayson had achieved all he could in Leeds, today I got my answer - Yes he has.

Today Ken Bates decided that enough was enough, and just like I predicted after the Burnley game he waited till the transfer window was closed - Terrible window btw, lost our Captain and signed an american nobody and a league 1 loanee - Makes me wonder if I have been right all along about Bates not trusting Simon Grayson on the transfer market?

Simon joined us after being quite succesfull at Blackpool, and even dropped a division to take charge of his favorite club, so the fans loved him from the first minute. In his first full season (2009/10) in charge of Leeds United he delivered what we all wanted when we were finally promoted after three terrible years in League 1. Along with the promotion he also delivered a FA Cup adventure, who can forget the FANTASTIC 1-0 win at Old Trafford against the much hated Manchester United and also the 2-2 draw at White Hart Lane against Spurs.

Our first season in the Championsship was also pretty decent even if a late drop in form cost us the top-6 spot we'd had almost all season long - So everybody expected this to be our year, I am pretty sure Simon did to, but it just wasn't to be - we give to many goals away, loose to many stupid points and haven't been able to attract the players you would expect Leeds United to attract, this is not only Simons fault, Ken Bates holds a big part of the blame in this as well of course.

So Simon leaves us now, we're in 10th place "just" three points away from the play offs, and hopefully a new manger can give us the boost we need to get Leeds United up where we all feel we belong, if not this season then next year...

A new manager now will be able to look at the team and the youngsters for the reminder of this season and then he'll have the longer transfer window in the summer to be able to create the team he wants (If Bates allows him to spent that is). So hopefully this will end up being a good thing for the whole of Leeds United even if it hurts for us to see another Leeds fan leave the club.

Marching On Together Larry - we'll always have January 3rd and the promotion!
